The wines of Western AustraliaCullen Wines, Wilyabrup, Margaret RiverNew for 2004 Cullen produce premium wines. Their quality philosophy is shown in the Cabernet Merlot, named after the founder of the estate, Di Cullen, also has some Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc in the cuvee which help to give the wine a sublime depth and character. The Chardonnay is whole bunch pressed and fermented in oak with wild yeasts, the epitome of complexity and elegance.
Cape Mentelle Winery, Margaret RiverA sister winery to the famous Cloudy Bay in New Zealand these wines are top flight but unfortunately in quite short supply, a piquant dry white and juicy rich Cabernet Merlot are bursting with fruit and fill the palate with generous appealing flavours.
Plantagenet, Mount BarkerA fine estate from Western Australia. The Omrah Shiraz is warm and fleshy with supple character and a ripe aftertaste. We have recently added the Cabernet Sauvignon, a ripe jammy red bursting with berry fruit flavours and the altogether more subtle, well crafted Pinot Noir, a velvety, rounded wine of distinction.
Peos Estate, ManjimupA stunning addition to our list. Very top qaulity, small scale production these winesconvince us that Australia is producing superb World class wines.
