Silvio looks for his wines to express their origins; i.e. have character!. Not a branded homogenous creation which befalls a lot of Italian wines, but a master at work. The favourite is hard to choose with the alluring aromatic Vinnae, from Ribolla Gialla, Riesling and Malvasia grapes; fragrant, smooth charming Pinot Grigio; robust (and unoaked) Tunina or the subtle, attractive Chardonnay of his dreams.

Giovanni Blason

From his 15 hectares under vine, Giovanni's PG is quite exceptional and is, all to rarely in these modern times,

an authentic example of this grape. He also gives us a fantastic ripe and juicy Cabernet Franc red wine.

Franz Haas has achieved much success with his characterful wines that offer outstanding value. Purity and balance are to the fore, but with added depth of flavour.

Azienda Agricole Lorenzon

Kiwi winemaker Matt Thomson produces the vibrant Feudi Pinot Grigio. A little riper than the Haas wine it shows good fruit and structure.

Allegrini

Allegrini is amongst the elite of World wine producers. Their modern exuberant style of wine making is captured beautifully in the fusion of concentrated fruit and fine toasty oak shown brilliantly in the sublime Amarone. La Poja is a single plot atop a hill surrounded by Cypress trees. It is a single varietal also, the Corvina grape giving a unique wine with persistent flavour and singular personality. Although rightly famous for their flagship wines it is worth considering their "normal" Valpolicella if one wants a taste of what they are capable of at a more modest price.
