The wines of Southern Italy

Southern Italy - White Wines

We feel this is one of the most exciting regions for great value wine at the moment.

Borgo Selene

Stunning value for money made by the legendary winemaker Alberto Antonini at Villa Tonino.

Villa Tonino

Ripe and fruity dry whites from this lively co-operative on the Island of Sicily.

Grillo 2009 6.99 ---

Vesevu

Mario Ercolino is making some fine wines from this vineyard above the Bay of Naples. At 450 metres, the altitude ensures cooler climate complexity and with a low temperature fermentation the pureness of the fruit flavours shine through this charming and inviting white wine.

Southern Italy - Red Wines

Li Veli

This red, made from the Negroamaro grape, has arich and full bodied character, and we stress the word character. Unique and distinctive, this wine really displays the warmth and rustic splendor of southern Italy

Mark Shannon

The hand made Primitivo from Mark Shannon, a Californian winemaker who has settled in the area is a must and his elegantly perfumed Negroamaro a delight.

Vesevo

This red is a super example of one of Italy's best kept secrets. The Aglianico grape gives dark, full bodied, but supple wines. A juicy red with warmth and spiciness.

Villa Tonino

Nero d’Avola, a Sicilian grape variety, its medium fruity character is most appealing.
