20 Year Old Tawny Port – Quinta do Bom Retiro

20-years old is the average age of the wines in the blend from a single Quinta or farm, Bom Retiro.

Ramos Pinto are most renowned for their expertise in producing Tawny Ports, where the wine spends most of its life maturing in large wooden vats.

Gradually losing the rich red colour and turning a golden amber (tawny) in hue, this is one of our very favourite wines.

Time after time – in fact each time we drink it – we remark as to how outstanding a product it is.

Complex luscious and mature, suggestions of spices and vanilla. Sweet and multi-layered palate with mellow dried fruit and ripe dark fruits too. Very long savoury finish, something to contemplate life with, perhaps as a digestif after dinner. Magical.
